When we opened a YouTube channel to promote our work, the first instinct was to post a game trailer. We dropped that idea. Nobody searches for an ad. So instead of something to sell, we decided to post something worth watching: a story.
The first one is the myth of Aedon. In ancient Greece, Aedon was a woman whose grief ran so deep that the gods turned her into a bird. From that day on, her sorrow did not come out as weeping but as song, every night, the most beautiful sound in the world. The Greeks called that bird Aedon, which means the one who sings.
That story stayed with me. The idea that a song can carry what we cannot quite put into words. So I took the name straight from it for the music app I built. Aedon.
This is the shape the channel will take from here: the story behind a name, and the thing that carries that name. Game, app, or music, the story comes first and the product sits quietly at the end. The video below is where it starts.
